Bulimia:
Bulimia is an illness, or an extreme eating disorder. It is a mixture of
binge eating and anorexia.
For example, a person with bulimia
eats uncontrollably then throws
up their food to avoid gaining weight (but
not in all cases).
People usually try to lose weight after eating, using laxatives, or excessively
working out. It is one of the most common eating disorders. It is
very common in women.
Bulimia can result in; acid in teeth from vomiting,
tooth decay, sore enamels, bone thinning and heart damage.
(It’s a physiological eating disorder).
It is uncommon, but usually referred to as “Bulimia Nervosa.”
Cause:
The exact cause is unknown, because there are so many different
possible factors that could play the roles of bulimia development. Bulimia
researchers have concluded that in biology, it is caused by emotional health,
societal expectations among oneself and certain personality traits that the
victim DOESN’T have. Sometimes it can even be caused for a desire to be
unbelievably thin. Most researchers think it runs in the family and is
inherited by old relatives.
Symptoms:
- Eating uncontrollably, then
purging. To purge is to; rid abruptly or violently remove
someone/yourself of an unwanted feeling,
memory or condition.
- Vomiting/abusing laxatives.
- Excessive exercising.
- Dental problems.
- Sore throat.
- Feeling out of control.
- Swollen glands in neck and face.
- Depression/ mood swings.
- Heartburn, trouble with digestion system.
- Irregular periods (for women).
- Weakness, exhaustion, and bloodshot eyes.
Treatment(s): Treatment for bulimia requires a
therapist/a mental health professional. In some cases, bulimia recovery usually
consists of the victim to help themselves first, before they see a medical doctor or
use drugs of any type. If drugs are eventually needed, the types of drugs
that’ll be offered are anti-depressant drugs.
How To Avoid Bulimia:
To avoid bulimia, don't ever let your mind fall into the stage of wanting/needing
to be "perfect," take care of your emotional health, and help speak up
for friends you know of that has bulimia. Make sure to manage your stress
positively, and avoid any type of temptations. If you feel like you're experiencing
some of the symptoms listed above, seek help immediately and take the initiative
to self-advocate. Take care of yourself, & take care of others. Stay strong!

Vicious Circle Of Bulimia:
Bulimia starts off as anorexia, but in some cases, when people starve themselves, it
makes them crave food even more, so they cant help but eat more than they can finish.
After they obsessively eat, their minds fall back into the anorexia stage and they have a
need to be skinny, so of course, the only thing their minds can think of doing is purging.
(If you ever feel yourself fall under this circle of Bulimia, get help as fast as you can, call
a friend, tell a parents/sibling/relative, and do anything you can to help yourself prevent it
before your disorder reaches the extreme).
